Client meeting briefing

A briefing doc before every client meeting, written for you

Enter the client contact's name and company. In about 60 seconds RunDossier writes the one-page briefing you would have prepared yourself: their background, your history with them, and what to open with — exportable to Google Docs or Word.

Built for consultants, fractional executives, and agency leads who run their own client relationships.

No credit card. One credit per dossier, about 60 seconds per run.

The section no database has

A consultant's edge in the room is history: who introduced you, what was said last time, what is still open. That lives in your inbox, not in any contact tool. Connect Gmail and the briefing includes it.

From the example dossier — “Your Connection”

Built from the requester's own email with the person. Email content is analyzed at generation time and never stored.

You were introduced to Sarah by Michael Torres in March 2023 regarding a potential partnership between TechCorp and your company's data platform. Your email history shows:

  • •First contact: Introduction email from Michael Torres on March 15, 2023
  • •Communication pattern: Professional, responsive, typically replies within 24 hours
  • •Recent activity: Last exchanged emails 2 weeks ago about scheduling this meeting
  • •Topics discussed: Data integration possibilities, API partnerships, mutual connections in the industry

"Looking forward to exploring how we might work together. I've heard great things about what you're building." — Sarah Chen, March 2023

Sarah Chen and TechCorp are fictional; the structure and depth are what a real run produces. Read the full example dossier.

Meetings it is built for

Kickoff with a stakeholder you have never met

The sponsor brings their VP to the first working session. You know the engagement; you do not know the VP. A dossier gives you their background, how long they have been in the seat, and who they report to before you are introduced.

The contact from eight months ago

A past client contact resurfaces with a new project. The relationship section recovers how you were introduced, what you worked on, and what you last promised — from your own inbox, so it is specific to you.

The proposal meeting with a new buyer

Procurement adds a decision-maker to the final call. Their previous employers and public remit tell you what lens they will bring, and the talking points give you two specific openers instead of small talk.

What you type

A person, with enough context to find the right one. The company name alone is not a subject — the briefing is about the human you are meeting.

What you type
Person's name
Sarah Chen
Context
VP of Engineering at TechCorp

A person's full name plus their company or title. RunDossier researches people, so a company name on its own finds no profile — and you never need to paste a LinkedIn URL; the profile is located for you, and if several people share the name you pick the right one.

Into the client file

Export any dossier to Google Docs or download it as Word, so the briefing sits next to the engagement notes instead of in a tab you will close. Dossiers are private to your account and are never indexed.

Frequently asked questions

What does a client meeting briefing from RunDossier contain?

A summary of who the person is, their professional background from their public LinkedIn profile, a relationship section built from your own email with them (who introduced you, when you last spoke, open threads), suggested talking points, and quick facts such as tenure and reporting line where public.

What do I enter?

The contact's full name and their company or title — for example “Sarah Chen, VP of Engineering at TechCorp”. No LinkedIn URL is needed. Enter a person, not a company: RunDossier briefs you on people.

Can I save the briefing to the client file?

Yes. Every dossier can be exported to Google Docs (after connecting your Google account) or downloaded as a Word .docx, and it stays in your dashboard.

Does it read all of my email?

No. With Gmail connected, RunDossier searches only for messages involving the person you named, uses them during generation, and does not store the content. Access is read-only and can be revoked in one click. Dossiers generate without Gmail too; you just lose the relationship section.

I meet the same client contacts repeatedly — is it still useful?

Most useful before the first meeting with a new stakeholder, a kickoff with someone you have only emailed, or a renewal with a contact who has gone quiet. For a weekly standing call with someone you know well, you will not need it.

Brief yourself before the next client meeting

Three briefings are free, no card. Enter a client contact's name and company and read what comes back before you walk in.
